Just some stuff, Briefly

So I'm sorry, but this is going to have to be a short post, and I want to get it out now because I won't be able to over the weekend.  I'm not going to write too much about anything, I'm just going to put the links up.

Atoms for Peace
Most importantly, Thom Yorke has announced tour dates and a name for his band that isn't Radiohead... you know the one, it's got a couple people nobody has really heard of, like FLEA, NIGEL GOODRICH, the drummer for Beck/REM, and some other guy who I actually haven't heard of.  The band name is Atoms for Peace, which is the name of a song from Thom Yorke's solo album the Eraser, as well as the name of an Eisenhower project from the '50s that's goal was to spread the use of atomic energy to spread peace... oh, Thom and your political references... check out tour dates over at Pitchfork (most importantly... Coachella if you didn't already know).

The New Pornographers
I don't know if I have said this, but the New Pornographers have their next album, Together, coming out in May.  They just put up the first single from it over at their website.  Listen to it here.

Broken Bells :: Vaporize
One of the supergroups that have not failed to be super, Broken Bells, have released their newest song.  Also, they announced some LA tour dates at the Troubadour (easily my favorite venue - also coming up at the Trooob: Morning Benders).

Gorillaz :: SuperFast JellyFish
Gorillaz just debuted a new track.  They immediately put it up on Youtube as a nonembeddable, so check it out over there.

Also, next weekend I'm going to be "reporting" from the Windward (LA high school) Battle of the Bands, which is actually at the El Rey, so you know it's legit.  I'll be posting some of the tracks from the bands in the coming week, so stay tuned!

Last, but maybe least... (I kid I kid), Joanna Newsom released her new album.
